Why this pick
A deliciously mean rivalry between women drives this stylized revenge comedy, with Meryl Streep delivering the same kind of grand, image-obsessed glamour that powers Death Becomes Her.
Why this pick
For its polished suburban artifice, sharp female-centered satire, and deliberately cartoonish darkness, this keeps Death Becomes Her’s blend of beauty culture and macabre comedy.
Why this pick
Its lavish production design, deadpan morbidity, and affectionate embrace of elegant grotesquerie offer a similarly playful, visually rich dose of death-adjacent humor.
Why this pick
Kathleen Turner anchors this impeccably dressed suburban nightmare with the same relish for outrageous behavior, acidic jokes, and cheerfully escalating darkness.
