The Love Witch
Why this pick
Its lush, knowingly artificial witchcraft, erotic comic menace and bold colour styling echo Eastwick’s pleasure in feminine desire becoming dangerous magic.
03
Bell, Book and Candle
Why this pick
A sophisticated romantic comedy in which a glamorous witch uses spells on an unsuitable man, with playful adult charm rather than heavy horror.
04
Elvira, Mistress of the Dark
Why this pick
For the campy supernatural fun and outsider heroine energy: Elvira brings irreverent sexual confidence and gleefully grotesque small-town chaos.
05
The Craft
Why this pick
It shares the intoxicating appeal of a female coven discovering its collective power, though it leans more toward teen angst and sinister consequences.

01 / THE STORY
A little about the film.
Alexandra Medford, Jane Spofford, and Sukie Ridgemont are three dissatisfied women living in the picturesque town of Eastwick, Rhode Island. Alex is a sculptor and single mother of one daughter; Jane is a newly divorced music teacher unable to have children; while Sukie has six daughters and works as a columnist for the ''Eastwick Word'', the local newspaper. The three friends all have lost their husbands. Unaware that they are witches, the women unwittingly form a coven where they have weekly get-togethers and share their fantasies about ideal men.
