SIMILAR PICKS / A PERSONAL CONNECTION

If you loved Cyborg, try these.

Nemesis poster 01

Movie / 1992 / Science Fiction / Thriller

Nemesis

Why this pick

Pyun’s slicker, more urban cyberpunk counterpart to Cyborg: a battered future, augmented bodies, relentless pursuit, and muscular low-budget action staged with the same abrasive comic-book energy.

Steel Dawn poster 02

Movie / 1987 / Action / Adventure / Science Fiction

Steel Dawn

Why this pick

A grim, sparsely populated post-collapse western with a solitary fighter protecting vulnerable survivors. Its dusty ruins, physical combat, and unvarnished 1980s apocalypse feel closely echo Cyborg.

Stryker poster 03

Movie / 1983 / Action / Science Fiction

Stryker

Why this pick

Offers the same bargain-bin-but-committed post-apocalyptic charge: a brutal desert journey, predatory factions, improvised weapons, and rough-edged action momentum.

The Blood of Heroes poster 04

Movie / 1989 / Action / Adventure / Science Fiction

The Blood of Heroes

Why this pick

The US title of Salute to the Jugger, included for viewers who know it by this release name; its harsh wasteland aesthetic and desperate, body-level conflict are especially compatible with Cyborg.

Dead End Drive-In poster 05

Movie / 1986 / Drama / Horror / Science Fiction

Dead End Drive-In

Why this pick

Its enclosed dystopian nightmare trades desert trekking for a trashed drive-in prison, yet retains Cyborg’s feral 1980s future, confrontational violence, and scrappy anti-authoritarian spirit.

01 / THE STORY

A little about the film.

A Pandemic known as the living death cripples civilization. A small group of surviving scientists and doctors — located in Atlanta, Georgia (U.S. state), home of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention — work on a cure to save what remains of humanity. To complete their work they need information stored on a computer system in New York City. Pearl Prophet volunteers for the dangerous courier mission and is made into a cyborg through surgical augmentation.
