Why this pick
Like Zero Day, it observes a school attack with chilling restraint, but trades video-diary immediacy for drifting long takes, fractured viewpoints, and an ominously ordinary atmosphere.
Why this pick
A stark, carefully controlled examination of violence at an educational institution, using spare black-and-white imagery and multiple perspectives to sustain dread without sensationalism.
Why this pick
This focuses on a troubled student’s rage, isolation, and creative expression, sharing Zero Day’s concern with warning signs while approaching the subject through tense school drama rather than faux footage.
Why this pick
Its quiet, aftermath-centered structure examines guilt, grief, and the strained connections between students after school violence, offering the same uncomfortable seriousness from a more reflective angle.

01 / THE STORY
Andre Kriegman (based on Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold) and Calvin Gabriel (based on Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold) announce their intention to attack their high school, calling their plan "Zero Day". They keep a video diary on the camera, carefully hiding it from their friends and families. The majority of the film is portrayed through their video filming, and shows them planning, preparing, and explaining some of their motives.
