Why this pick
Like Get Crazy, it lives inside the unruly ecosystem of a rock performance, balancing backstage absurdity, oversized personalities, and the unstable charge of live music—though with a more emotionally bruised edge.
Why this pick
A gleefully excessive rock-and-roll showbiz satire with flamboyant stage imagery, broad comic energy, and a deep affection for music-industry spectacle that aligns closely with Get Crazy’s midnight fever.
Why this pick
This shaggy, offbeat road-music comedy shares Get Crazy’s fondness for the eccentric labor behind concerts, treating backstage chaos and oddball characters with loose, affectionate humor.
Why this pick
For Get Crazy’s taste for ridiculous music-business characters and cartoonishly heightened comic momentum, this affectionate satire delivers escalating schemes, fake bands, and a similarly unbuttoned cult-comedy sensibility.
Why this pick
Also directed by Allan Arkush, it carries the same irreverent, fast-moving comic rhythm and sincere love of loud rock music, turning youthful rebellion into joyous pop-art chaos.

Assisting Max are stage manager Neil Allen (Daniel Stern (actor)), and visiting former stage manager Willy Loman (Gail Edwards). Also caught up in the wild activity is beleaguered stagehand Joey (Dan Frischman), temperamental lighting director Violetta (Mary Woronov), and Neil's younger sister Susie (Stacey Nelkin).
