01
Starcrash
Why this pick
Like Galaxina, this is exuberant bargain-basement space opera: gleaming robots, cosmic peril, flamboyant costumes, and a knowingly silly sense of adventure.

The Ice Pirates
Why this pick
Its ramshackle future, wisecracking crew, pulp sci-fi props, and playful sexual humour make it a particularly close match for Galaxina’s campy spacefaring charm.
03
Space Truckers
Why this pick
A grubby, comic blue-collar voyage through space, packed with broad character comedy and gloriously absurd B-movie invention rather than polished sci-fi seriousness.
04
Dark Star
Why this pick
This deadpan cult classic similarly finds comedy in an underqualified spaceship crew stuck on a long, strange patrol, with cheap-looking futurism used to witty effect.
05
Battle Beyond the Stars
Why this pick
Another scrappy early-1980s space adventure with eccentric alien allies, a colorful cobbled-together universe, and sincere pulp momentum beneath its B-movie surfaces.

01 / THE STORY
A little about the film.
In the year 3008, the crew of the Intergalactic Space Police cruiser ''Infinity'' is on patrol duty in deep space. The ship is captained by the incompetent Cornelius Butt and his crewmen: his first officer, Sgt. Thor; pilot "space-cowboy" Pvt. Robert "Buzz" McHenry; Maurice, a black humanoid alien with pointy ears and bat wings; and Sam, an Asian man who quotes Confucius. Also aboard is Galaxina, a voluptuous blonde android (robot) servant, and Rock-Eater, a rock-eating alien prisoner confined to the brig.
