Why this pick
A lavishly eccentric fable with a wandering hero, impossible mythology, theatrical visuals, and melancholy beneath the jokes—well suited to Erik’s off-kilter Viking fantasy.
Why this pick
Its muddy, lived-in medieval setting and grotesque comic imagination offer a darker but similarly irreverent take on pre-modern adventure and reluctant heroism.
Why this pick
This combines a warm, knowingly comic fairy-tale quest with memorable oddballs and sincere romantic stakes, echoing Erik the Viking’s playful treatment of heroic legend.
Why this pick
A boisterous British-inflected parody of swashbuckling myths, built around broad ensemble comedy and silly adventure set pieces rather than conventional heroic grandeur.
