Why this pick
A warm baseball-industry story about scouting talent and adapting to a changing profession, balancing underdog sports momentum with an unlikely mentor-and-protégé relationship.

Its sports conflict happens largely away from the field: an aging-style decision-maker fights data, office politics, and career pressure while trying to trust his own judgment.

For the film's quiet dignity and estranged-family tenderness, this is another unhurried portrait of an older, stubborn man undertaking a final meaningful journey.
Why this pick
A character-first baseball film with humor, heart, and affection for the people around the sport; its emotional stakes come from bonds and personal pride rather than winning alone.
