Why this pick
A similarly gleeful Japanese splatter assault: a wronged heroine turns herself into an absurd weapon amid geysering blood, cartoonish villains, and deliberately excessive practical effects.
Why this pick
Matches its fusion of hyper-stylized Japanese action, body modification, deadpan insanity, and escalating grotesque weaponry, with the same knowingly maximalist cult-film energy.
Why this pick
A close tonal cousin: apocalyptic Japan, mutant monsters, weaponized bodies, punky action, and astonishingly overblown gore effects delivered with relentless comic-book momentum.
Why this pick
Less violent but equally uninhibited: a wildly unstable Japanese genre collage that uses grotesque humor, sudden musical shifts, claymation, and morbid absurdity with fearless visual playfulness.
Why this pick
Its American Troma equivalent in spirit: low-budget splatter, mutant anatomy, outrageous satire, musical chaos, and a deliberate commitment to making every gross-out as excessive as possible.

01 / THE STORY
The film is set in a near future chaotic Japan. A mad scientist known as "Key Man" (Itsuji Itao) has created a virus that mutates humans into monstrous creatures called "Engineers" that sprout bizarre weapons from any injury. The Tokyo Police Force has been privatized to deal with this new threat of engineers, so a special squad of officers called "Engineer Hunters" are created to deal with them. However, unlike the average police force, the Engineer Hunters are a private :wikt:quasi-military force that utilize violence, Sadomasochism, and streetside executions to maintain law and order.
