Why this pick
A caustic, lived-in police-corruption drama with the same fascination for compromised detectives, institutional rot, and the uneasy overlap between law enforcement and criminal power.

Set in postwar Hiroshima, this furious landmark shares the local gangland texture, volatile alliances, and documentary-like sense that violence and politics are inseparable.
