Why this pick
A rapid-fire collage from the same irreverent comedy tradition, including a grandly silly disaster-film parody that shares The Big Bus’s taste for treating nonsense with total seriousness.
Why this pick
For the sincere, lavishly melodramatic disaster-movie machinery that The Big Bus lovingly sends up: an imperiled vehicle, escalating sabotage, and an all-star cast playing it absolutely straight.
Why this pick
Its cross-country vehicle mayhem, celebrity ensemble, and breezy disregard for plausibility make it a natural companion if The Big Bus’s oversized road-trip spectacle was the draw.
Why this pick
This modern ensemble chase recreates the buoyant chaos of The Big Bus: wildly divergent comic characters, increasingly ridiculous transportation mishaps, and a finale designed as broad crowd-pleasing spectacle.
Why this pick
For its similarly 1960s–70s strain of deadpan absurdity: official institutions, conspiratorial danger, and outlandish comic premises are played with a cool, deceptively serious face.

01 / THE STORY
Coyote Bus Lines' scientists and designers work feverishly to complete ''Cyclops'', a state-of-the-art Articulated bus jumbo bus, enabling man to achieve a new milestone in busing: non-stop service between New York City and Denver, Colorado. Almost immediately after the bus's engine is equipped with nuclear fuel, a bomb goes off, critically injuring Professor Baxter, the scientist in charge of the project. ''Cyclops'' itself is undamaged, but Coyote Lines has lost both its driver and co-driver.
