01
Grandma's Boy
Why this pick
Like The Benchwarmers, it runs on broad, good-natured man-child comedy, a mismatched group of friends, and an underdog’s attempt to get his life together without losing its goofy energy.

02
The Ringer
Why this pick
A similarly unapologetically silly mid-2000s sports comedy, driven by an ill-advised scheme, escalating team camaraderie, and a sweet underdog spirit beneath the crude gags.
03
The Comebacks
Why this pick
Its rapid-fire spoof style, hapless athletes, and exaggerated sports-movie clichés make it a close fit for The Benchwarmers’ broad, low-stakes, cheer-for-the-losers humor.
04
Mr. Woodcock
Why this pick
Dennis Dugan-style broad comedy meets childhood sports baggage: an immature adult is forced to revisit old humiliations, with familiar comic faces and a lightweight redemption arc.
05
DodgeBall: A True Underdog Story
Why this pick
It shares the scrappy amateur-team setup, ridiculous competition, and affectionate mockery of sports-movie triumphs, while building its jokes around a band of lovable failures.
