Why this pick
A sleek, adult courtroom thriller with a defence attorney drawn into a murder case where the evidence, intimacy and danger keep shifting.
Why this pick
Matches Suspect’s serious legal-investigation drive and emotionally committed lead performance, building tension through a difficult case rather than action spectacle.
Why this pick
Its Washington-style institutional unease, methodical investigation and morally compromised legal world make it a strong companion to Suspect’s procedural suspense.
Why this pick
For Suspect’s clean, old-school thriller construction: a determined legal professional, a vulnerable witness and tightly escalating danger with little wasted motion.
Why this pick
An intelligent, character-led legal drama where courtroom conflict is sharpened by a fraught relationship, echoing Suspect’s blend of advocacy and human stakes.

01 / THE STORY
Around Christmas, a United States Supreme Court Justice commits suicide, for which no explanation or context is given. We see the justice making a tape recording and then shooting himself. Shortly thereafter, the body of Elizabeth Quinn, a file clerk at the United States Department of Justice, is found floating in the Potomac River, and Carl Wayne Anderson (Liam Neeson), a homeless, deaf-mute Vietnam veteran, is arrested for the crime, based almost entirely on the fact that he was seen sleeping in Quinn's car the night of her murder. Kathleen Riley (Cher) is the beleaguered D.C. public defender assigned to represent Anderson.
