Why this pick
Jackie Chan’s blend of bruising, inventive stunt work, broad humor, and a fast-escalating urban criminal conflict makes this the closest essential follow-up.
Why this pick
Directed by Stanley Tong, it carries the same clean, kinetic stunt design and cheerful fish-out-of-water energy, while expanding the scale of the action.
Why this pick
Chan’s everyman charm anchors a light conspiracy adventure that moves from comic confusion into larger danger without losing the agile, practical-action appeal.
Why this pick
A gleefully cartoonish Jackie Chan vehicle with broad comedy, hectic criminal mayhem, and inventive action; ideal if Rumble’s sillier, high-energy side was the draw.

During his stay in the Bronx, Keong befriends a neighbor kid and beats up some neighborhood thugs who cause problems at the market. Meanwhile, one of those petty thugs in the local gang stumbles into a criminal situation way over his head. Blinded by greed, his involvement draws his gang, the kid, Keong, and the whole neighborhood into a deadly crossfire. When the lazy cops fail to successfully resolve matters, Keong takes things into his own hands.
