Why this pick
Like Rammbock, it makes an outbreak frighteningly intimate: a recently isolated man survives from an apartment block, with quiet routines, fragile hope and urban dread carrying more weight than spectacle.
Why this pick
A tense, close-quarters contagion nightmare driven by grief, mistrust and defensive survival. Its restrained scale and escalating interpersonal unease closely suit Rammbock’s claustrophobic emotional pressure.
Why this pick
This stripped-down zombie road film centers on two mismatched survivors whose bickering companionship and emotional baggage matter as much as the infected, echoing Rammbock’s human-scale apocalypse.
Why this pick
An austere post-outbreak survival drama that favors loneliness, resourcefulness and wounded connection over action. Its subdued pacing and intimate stakes match the melancholy beneath Rammbock’s siege premise.
Why this pick
A man becomes trapped in his apartment building as a violent contagion spreads outside. Its real-time urgency and improvised escape problem make it a particularly direct companion to Rammbock.

01 / THE STORY
Michael, who has recently broken up with Gabi, visits her Berlin apartment to return her keys and hopefully save the relationship. He finds two plumbers there, and they do not know where she is. As Michael attempts to contact Gabi, a rage virus transforms people into bloodthirsty cannibals, and one of the plumbers attacks Michael. As Berlin falls into anarchy, Michael and the remaining workman, Harper, barricade themselves in the apartment complex and brace for an attack. They soon realize that the rage virus can be temporarily subdued by remaining calm or using sedatives. They also learn that the infected are Photosensitivity. The pair uses this weakness to attempt to make contact with the other inhabitants of the apartment complex. Michael, Harper, and Anita, a resident, attempt to break out of the apartment building and make their way to Gabi, whom Michael believes is in danger.
