Why this pick
This is another unsentimental crime-world immersion: a vulnerable man learns to survive shifting loyalties and brutal power structures without glamorising the cost.
Why this pick
Its tense criminal-family dynamic has the same lived-in menace as Pusher, where loyalty is transactional and even quiet domestic scenes feel dangerously unstable.
Why this pick
For Pusher’s documentary-like grit and refusal to romanticise crime, this multi-strand Naples underworld film offers an equally bleak, street-level portrait of people caught in its machinery.
Why this pick
A corrupt London detective’s life unravels in a grimy, nocturnal crime thriller driven by the same moral exhaustion, sudden violence and escalating danger as Pusher.
Why this pick
Its fractured crime narrative turns a supposedly manageable score into an agonising chain of consequences, matching Pusher’s focus on panic, debt and collapsing personal bonds.

01 / THE STORY
The film begins in Copenhagen with a low-level drug dealer Frank (Kim Bodnia) going to a heroin deal with his sidekick Tonny (Mads Mikkelsen). The pair only manage to sell some of their product, and then waste time about town. Frank then visits his friend Vic (Laura Drasbæk), a prostitution who holds some of Frank's stash for a fee. Vic wants to have a serious relationship with Frank, but Frank prefers to keep it purely casual.
