Why this pick
Like Little White Lies, it lets a close-knit group’s reunion expose old loyalties, resentments and compromises, balancing lively ensemble banter with an increasingly tender, bittersweet emotional undercurrent.
Why this pick
Its gently interwoven adults, unforced humour and compassionate attention to loneliness echo the warmth beneath Canet’s ensemble drama, with relationships evolving through small, recognisable social moments.
Why this pick
A sunlit French holiday setting and conversational, emotionally evasive relationships make this a lighter but closely aligned match for Little White Lies’ mix of summer freedom, romantic uncertainty and quiet self-deception.
Why this pick
Its measured observation of friendship under strain and its unsentimental, lived-in ensemble texture offer a more subdued counterpart to the way Little White Lies finds vulnerability behind social performance.
Why this pick
This sharply written, interconnected relationship comedy shares Canet’s interest in secrets reshaping friendships and family bonds, while retaining a humane, playful tone rather than turning its emotional complications into melodrama.
