Why this pick
Like Limitless, it turns an ordinary person’s sudden cognitive transformation into a slick, accelerating thriller, with escalating capabilities and a propulsive, high-concept rush.
Why this pick
This sharply paced experiment in altered behaviour shares Limitless’s fascination with intoxicating self-improvement, but channels it into mounting social tension rather than individual success.
Why this pick
A clean, urgent high-concept thriller driven by a man rapidly mastering impossible circumstances. Its tight structure and escalating puzzle offer a similarly satisfying momentum.
Why this pick
It shares the fantasy of suddenly gaining extraordinary mental and physical capability, then pushes that empowerment into a lean, darkly kinetic techno-thriller.
Why this pick
For Limitless’s polished paranoia and escalating stakes, this delivers an equally contemporary, efficient thriller about a person trying to stay ahead of an unseen, powerful force.
