Why this pick
Like Kingdom of the Spiders, it turns an ordinary rural community into an escalating creature-feature siege, with ecological unease, practical monster chaos, and brisk 1970s drive-in horror energy.
Why this pick
This shares its era, low-budget disaster momentum, and mounting dread of nature becoming hostile, building from an isolated setting toward a pulpy survival nightmare.
Why this pick
Another 1970s nature-gone-wrong thriller, Bug pairs scientific curiosity with increasingly dangerous insects and a serious, apocalyptic tone beneath its exploitation-movie premise.
Why this pick
For the same panic over a real-world menace turned catastrophic, this delivers a larger-scale, straight-faced insect invasion with disaster-film spectacle and steadily widening stakes.
Why this pick
Its humid, isolated estate atmosphere and slow accumulation of animal threats make it a strong match for the ominous environmental-horror mood behind Kingdom of the Spiders.

01 / THE STORY
Dr. Robert "Rack" Hansen, a veterinarian in rural Verde Valley, Arizona, receives an urgent call from a local farmer, Walter Colby. Colby is upset because his prize calf has become sick for no apparent reason, and the animal is brought in to Hansen's laboratory. Hansen examines the calf, which dies shortly afterward. Hansen tells Colby he cannot explain what made the animal so ill so quickly, but takes samples of the calf's blood to a university lab in Flagstaff, Arizona.
