Why this pick
Soderbergh again delivers an exceptionally controlled, cool-toned espionage thriller: clipped scenes, shifting allegiances, and intelligent professionals testing one another under pressure.
Why this pick
Its reserved, highly capable central operator and cleanly staged bursts of violence echo Haywire’s no-nonsense appeal, while the plot steadily tightens around a corporate conspiracy.
Why this pick
A sleek spy thriller built around a formidable woman navigating betrayals and brutal close-quarters fights, with a tactile physicality similar to Haywire’s action.
Why this pick
For Haywire’s interest in capable people working through danger with dry efficiency: this has a similarly grounded, unglamorous procedural feel, though with more dark humor than combat.
Why this pick
A terse revenge-and-intrigue thriller that favors practical tension, patient investigation, and hard-edged action over superheroic spectacle.
