Why this pick
A tender, observant coming-of-age drama about a child exploring gender presentation, with the same intimate focus on identity, friendship, and the freedoms and pressures attached to being read differently.
Why this pick
It shares Girls Lost’s emotionally direct interest in gender transition, desire, and navigating social spaces, balancing awkwardness, warmth, and romantic tension without losing its youthful perspective.
Why this pick
For Girls Lost’s floral transformation and nocturnal sensuality, this offers an exquisitely stylized, flower-saturated exploration of role-playing, desire, and the unstable line between fantasy and selfhood.
Why this pick
A compassionate, lightly fantastical look at a young person’s gender expression and the social resistance around it, matching the original’s concern with identity and the costs of being oneself.
Why this pick
Its quiet Scandinavian unease, female coming-of-age viewpoint, and supernatural metaphor for repressed desire make it a strong match for Girls Lost’s inward, atmospheric transformation drama.
