Why this pick
Like District 13: Ultimatum, it turns a sealed-off urban stronghold into a pressure cooker, driven by relentless close-quarters combat, vertical geography, and a lone fighter navigating rival power structures.
Why this pick
A breathless French action thriller with the same no-frills momentum: one compromised cop races through a criminal underworld, with escalating fights and little room to pause.
Why this pick
Its ordinary protagonist is pulled into a hostile criminal network and forced into urgent, physical action—matching the lean, propulsive French genre energy of District 13: Ultimatum.
Why this pick
For the film’s taste for hard-hitting choreography and gangland conflict, this delivers an even harsher, highly stylised siege of brutal hand-to-hand battles and shifting loyalties.
Why this pick
Its cleanly staged martial-arts action, underdog drive, and prison-world rivalries offer the same pleasure in athletic physicality and direct, high-energy confrontation.

01 / THE STORY
Three years after the events of the District 13, the authorities are attempting to return Law and order (politics) to ravaged District 13. However, their efforts so far have failed to do so. The death of gang overlord Taha Ben Mahmoud has left a power vacuum, and total control of the area is now being fought over by five rival territorial gang lords who want to step into Taha's position. Leïto tries demolishing the walls surrounding the district on a daily basis, but is told to stop by African gang lord Molko, who sees the walls as protection from outside the district.
