Why this pick
It shares the candy-coloured shōjo adaptation feel, balancing comic awkwardness with a gradual, tender connection between an isolated girl and an unpredictable classmate.
Why this pick
A similarly gentle high-school romance with a soft visual sensibility, sincere first-love emotions, and the patient uncertainty of feelings that cannot be simply acted upon.
Why this pick
Its wistful school setting and emotionally direct heroine echo Daytime Shooting Star, while a reconnecting relationship gives the romance a warm, yearning pull.
Why this pick
This offers another polished shōjo live-action mood: a guarded girl is drawn into school friendships and romance, with sweetness tempered by social unease.
Why this pick
For the softer, more comforting side of Daytime Shooting Star, this has a shy heroine, an initially intimidating boy, and a warmly supportive high-school atmosphere.
