Why this pick
Like Curve, it strips survival horror to a remote setting, one vulnerable protagonist, and relentless real-time pressure, using physical limitations and sharp sound design to sustain tension.
Why this pick
A lean, sun-blasted endurance thriller centered on an isolated woman improvising through escalating danger, with the same direct, bodily sense of peril as Curve.
Why this pick
Its vertiginous single-location setup turns survival into an intensely physical puzzle. It shares Curve's sparse cast, exposed heroine, and escalating fight against an unforgiving environment.
Why this pick
Another claustrophobic female-led ordeal where entrapment forces ingenuity and emotional resilience. It is more psychological than Curve, but preserves its isolated, high-stakes survival intensity.
Why this pick
For Curve's suffocating physical dread, this escalates the survival-horror experience into a brutally confined environment, emphasizing endurance, disorientation, and a determined woman under extreme pressure.

01 / THE STORY
Mallory is a young bride-to-be on her way to Denver for her wedding rehearsal. She video chats with her sister, Ella, on her way there. Ella tells her that she hasn't bought her plane tickets yet because she wants to make sure Mallory is actually in love and happy with her decision. Mallory responds by telling her she's happy in a fake voice and hangs up. A few minutes later, her car breaks down. She tries calling American Automobile Association, but has no service.
