Miller again builds a chilling, observational character study from real events, using restrained performances and a deliberately uneasy pace to examine obsession, dependency and moral corrosion.

The Diving Bell and the Butterfly poster 02

Movie / 2007 / Drama

The Diving Bell and the Butterfly

Movie / 2015 / Crime / Drama

True Story

In Cold Blood poster 04

Movie / 1967 / Crime / Drama

In Cold Blood

Why this pick

Adapted from Capote's nonfiction book, this stark, unsensational crime drama shares its attention to the human aftermath of murder and its unsettling refusal to simplify its characters.

The End of the Tour

Why this pick

A quieter writer-interviewer encounter, driven by precise dialogue and shifting power rather than plot mechanics; it shares Capote's fascination with the ethical tension beneath literary access.
