Why this pick
Its stripped-down vision of civilisation after collapse shares Blindness’s bleak moral pressure, physical vulnerability, and stubborn focus on care as a form of resistance.
Why this pick
A severe social allegory with an enclosed, escalating nightmare structure, it channels the same anger at how quickly scarcity exposes hierarchy and collective selfishness.
Why this pick
This chilly, darkly absurd dystopia similarly uses an unreal social condition to unsettle rather than explain, with a controlled visual style and quietly corrosive despair.
Why this pick
Its sparse post-collapse setting and close attention to mistrust, bodily survival, and uneasy dependency echo Blindness’s claustrophobic examination of ethics under deprivation.
Why this pick
Not science fiction, but its clinical distance and horrifying attention to ordinary complicity make it a potent companion: terror is generated by what people learn to ignore.
