Why this pick
Pairs retro Black-power cool with an absurd conspiracy and deadpan spy-action parody. Its knowingly stylized heroics and broad comic escalation make it a natural companion to Black Dynamite.
Why this pick
Its hilariously earnest, ultra-low-budget action spectacle has the same pleasure in exaggerated genre clichés, improbable fights, and wholehearted commitment to pulp-movie nonsense.
Why this pick
A compact blast of lovingly reconstructed VHS-era action excess, where neon visuals, bad-ass posturing, and deliberately ludicrous plotting are delivered with Black Dynamite’s straight-faced precision.
Why this pick
This goofy martial-arts spoof mines exploitation-era genre conventions, mistaken-identity heroics, and intentionally awkward action for the same kind of affectionate, knowingly silly throwback energy.
Why this pick
Not a parody, but its colorful urban martial-arts world, larger-than-life villainy, soulful soundtrack, and exuberant sincerity offer the exact kind of cult-action flavor Black Dynamite celebrates.

01 / THE STORY
In the 1970s, Black Dynamite, a Vietnam veteran and former Central Intelligence Agency officer, vows to clean up the streets of drug dealers and gangsters after his younger brother Jimmy is killed by a shady organization. O'Leary, Black Dynamite's former United States Army and CIA partner, reinstates him into the agency because they do not want him seeking vengeance by himself. While trying to get to the bottom of Jimmy's murder, he finds out that his brother was actually working undercover for the CIA. Black Dynamite also discovers the shady organization is filling the black orphanages with heroin. He declares war on local drug dealers and successfully cleans up the streets, getting him the affection of Gloria, a Black Power activist who works at the local orphanage.
