Why this pick
Farhadi again turns ordinary domestic pressures into tightly escalating moral conflict, with shifting perspectives, naturalistic performances, and the same unnerving sense that every partial truth carries consequences.
Why this pick
Its intimate realism and carefully rationed information echo About Elly’s social tension, as a couple’s private hurt becomes entangled with pride, judgment, and the expectations of those around them.
Why this pick
A patient, emotionally intricate chamber drama in which family conversations continually revise what is understood, preserving the moral ambiguity and quietly suffocating tension of About Elly.
Why this pick
Like About Elly, it observes a close community as uncertainty hardens into accusation; its restrained realism makes the social fallout feel painfully immediate rather than melodramatic.
Why this pick
A gathering of relatives becomes an escalating pressure cooker, driven by uncomfortable silences, group complicity, and revelations that alter the atmosphere without abandoning human complexity.
