Why this pick
Like 4th Man Out, it treats coming out and first love with unusual warmth, gentle humour and everyday awkwardness, centring supportive friendships rather than trauma.
Why this pick
A tender, low-key queer romance grounded in family and emotional openness; its intimate scale and hopeful sincerity suit the softer side of 4th Man Out.
Why this pick
For more cosy comic companionship, this holiday rom-com similarly builds its charm around a gay man’s close straight friend, affectionate ribbing and an unabashedly feel-good sensibility.
Why this pick
Its deadpan humour and emotionally candid young-adult friendships extend 4th Man Out’s blend of awkward revelations, loyal friends and real feeling beneath casual jokes.

01 / THE STORY
On his 24th birthday, Adam struggles to come out as gay to his three best friends, Chris, Nick, and Ortu. Unable to reveal his secret, Adam goes with his friends to a failed night out at a bar, where Chris drunkenly flirts with a girl before the four friends make a quick exit to avoid a bar fight. The next morning, Adam manages to come out before quickly leaving to avoid any awkwardness. Comedy ensues as Adam's three best friends struggle to come to terms with their friend's sexuality, worried that his coming out might somehow change the nature of their relationships.
